"Sugar, sit a while."
This song comes on and I can hear the clink of wine glasses, the cool sea breeze over goosebumped skin. The stuffy air of enclosed spaces, hot skin dancing over one another. Tasting each other's food, sweetness of chocolate-coated strawberries, burning bourbon. Crisp clean shirts, the softness of belt holes. The sharp sound of a ringing telephone, the familiar car motor. Turning off lights. Burning candle smells, fingers through hair.
